Postcard from the Balkans, Fractured Countries

The Romsey Quilters were asked to make a hanging for their exhibition in the Romsey Abbey with the theme: Postcard from .... I made this quilt after I saw a newspaper clipping of refugee camps in Kosovo. By fracturing the hanging in black and white and in color, I illustrated the fracturing of the countries involved. The quilting pattern is taken from the landmap of the Balkans. The quilt is machine pieced and hand quilted.
