Fan-ciful

The idea for this quilt came from the graceful peacock design in this beautiful Hoffman International fabric. I devised a way to create the fan with one piece of fabric which made only one minimal distortion in the image of the peacock. The slats were made and attached individually adding to the dimensionality of this piece. Maple tree branches and leaves quilted in the background are lightly brushed with Tsukineko inks to subtly enhance the image.
